Asia Pacific is expected to require almost 20,000 new passenger aircraft over the next 20 years, representing around 46% of global demand. Alongside fleet expansion, this growth will create increasing requirements for maintenance, repair and overhaul services and the components needed to support aircraft throughout their operational lives.
This comes at a time when the aerospace aftermarket continues to face challenges around parts availability, maintenance capacity and supply chain resilience. For airlines, MRO providers and their supply chain partners, ensuring the right components are available when required remains critical to maintaining aircraft availability and reducing disruption.
A decade in Singapore
Farsound has an established presence in Asia Pacific. The company established Farsound Aviation Singapore in 2016, followed by Farsound Aviation Japan in 2017, strengthening its ability to support aerospace customers across the region.
This year marks a decade of Farsound’s presence in Singapore, one of the world’s leading aerospace aftermarket hubs. Today, Singapore accounts for around 10% of global MRO output and close to 20% of global engine MRO output.
From its operations in the region, Farsound supports customers with aircraft parts and specialist supply chain services including kitting, line feed, quality control, stock management and logistics.
Globally, Farsound is also celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026. Over four decades, the company has developed extensive expertise in the supply of aero engine parts and is now broadening its capabilities into airframe parts, enabling it to support requirements across more of the aircraft.
Supporting the next phase of Asia Pacific aviation
As fleets across Asia Pacific continue to grow, the aftermarket supporting those aircraft will need to develop alongside them. Increasing aircraft numbers, greater utilisation and expanding maintenance requirements will place additional demands on parts availability, inventory management and logistics.
For Farsound, its established operations in Singapore and Japan provide an important base from which to support customers across this growing market. Combining regional presence with four decades of aerospace supply chain experience enables the company to respond to evolving requirements for both aero engine and airframe parts.
Farsound will be at MRO Asia Pacific 2026 at Singapore EXPO from 22 to 24 September, exhibiting at Booth 2410. The event provides an opportunity to discuss the changing requirements of the Asia Pacific aftermarket and how effective parts supply and supply chain management can support the region’s continued aviation growth.
