Supplier Quality Engineer

Position Summary and Primary Focus:

Responsible for leading and overseeing supplier quality assurance activities across the supply chain, ensuring full compliance with aviation regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality systems / expectations.

Support the integrity of the supply chain by managing supplier approval, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement to ensure the delivery of safe, compliant, and airworthy components.

Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Group Head of Quality

Key deliverables and Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with AS9100 / AS9120 standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits, process evaluations, and risk assessments to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
  • Lead investigations into non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) where required.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Support supplier approvals, including qualification, monitoring, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, acting as the main point of contact for quality matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and cost efficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to support internal and external audits, as well as customer requirements.

Requirements – experience/qualifications:

  • Proven experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or aerospace quality.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9120, or other relevant quality standards (essential).
  • Experience with supplier audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of working with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to work independently while supporting cross-functional initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace regulations
  • Ability to read and understand technical data including drawings and specifications, etc
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, MS Office.
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
